This December Super Moon is the last Full Moon for 2017. Even though December’s Full Moon is an extremely powerful Super Moon, the presence of Mercury Retrograde is going to slow things down a little, but we can use the slower energy to think before we speak during this Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius time.

Sagittarius along with it’s ruler, Jupiter, also feature strongly this month with several planets in Sagittarius including the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Saturn offering expansion, growth, optimism and generosity. But our main focus of this Full Moon in Gemini should be about releasing and shedding all the mental blocks and thought patterns from 2017 so that we can enter 2018 with a fresh, new perspective.

This Gemini Full Moon allows us to see both sides of the equation (Gemini being the twins representing duality) to make choices. We are also being asked to use the energy of all these other planets in Sagittarius (offering us an open, spiritual and optimistic outlook) to decide which things we wish to leave behind in 2017, and which things we wish to embrace to take into our future.

This New Moon in Scorpio stimulates a new beginning where we can focus on and use the positive, constructive traits of Scorpio. This particular powerful lunation can be used to focus on regeneration, passion, perception and resourcefulness.

Our Full Moon in Taurus this month is all about patience, love, romance and compassion. This full moon is also connected to Neptune, which will bring about stronger spiritual intuition and imagination. And with this moon being a “supermoon” it will appear to be much larger, closer, brighter and more powerful to us here on earth…..

We also have Venus (Taurus’ ruler) in the beautiful sign of Libra, which is also offering us prosperity and abundance in the form of love, money and success.

We have also just experienced a fortunate and positive event where the Sun was conjunct Jupiter last week (Thursday 26th October), offering us new opportunities for transformation, optimism and the ability to see things in a whole new light.

Under this New Moon in Libra we are being asked to think about our connection with others. Libra is about balance but this New Moon is also about finding compassion, empathy and understanding of others. This fortunate New Moon has the potential to bring luck and abundance into our lives, but only if we use patience and kindness in our dealings with others.

Positively,  with Jupiter’s intuition and Mercury’s logic also coming together with the Sun and New Moon, we can use this energy to transform ourselves through integration – as we need both our heart and mind to operate in this world as each holds its own unique intelligence and wisdom.

This New Moon in the earthy sign of Virgo is the first new moon since the August solar eclipse, and with each new moon offering us a chance to turn over a new leaf or make a fresh start, this New Moon in Virgo is about healing for the body, mind and soul.

To assist us with this healing process we also have Chiron in Pisces opposite our New Moon in Virgo. So if in the past we have been the self-sacrificing helper/martyr, constantly complaining or criticising, then this planetary aspect can assist us to just “release”.

We also have Virgo’s ruler, Mercury, opposite Neptune in Pisces, which is great for daydreaming, creativity and using our imagination. But always remembering that the most powerful steps we can take on our healing journey is to learn to love ourselves and our lives, no matter what the circumstances may be.

This month’s Full Moon in Pisces is offering us compassionate, romantic, intuitive, dreamy energy to work with. Since full moons are like a giant celestial spotlight being beamed down upon us, we are being asked to listen to our intuition, to pay attention to areas in our lives where we have been stuck or in denial.

As the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces signifies completion, transition, endings, surrender and to accept the things we cannot change. We can use the watery energy of this Pisces Full Moon to forgive, to release judgments, to release grudges, to release pain and hurt from the past.

A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon moves between the Earth and Sun, completely blocking out the Sun’s rays and casting a shadow on earth.

With our New Moon falling in the sign of Leo (and with Leo’s ruler being the Sun), we are being asked to reveal our true selves. In fact, this total solar eclipse is part of a much larger event which started back in August 1999 (with a total solar eclipse New Moon in Leo). So we are being asked to think back to what was happening in our lives back then, and by doing so we can use this energy wisely, and then in turn we can have the chance to launch some very exciting new beginnings in our lives.

We also have the planet Uranus which is making a favourable aspect to the Moon. Uranus will assist us to bring energy, initiative and ambition into our lives to bring about these positive changes and success.

The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will be directing us to focus our attention on relationships of all kinds. A partial lunar eclipse happens when the Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon, but they are not precisely aligned. With a lunar eclipse in particular, the blotting out of the Moon represents a resetting of emotions, clearing away the emotional baggage of the previous six months. This is a powerful information receiving time for all of us. Like the old days when we used to use film in cameras, the full picture will take some time to develop and become crystal clear for all of us. In fact, we need think back to what was happening in our lives around February 2017, as these August Eclipses are closely linked to the themes that were occurring at that time.

With this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse event happening in the sign of Aquarius, it will be a time for thinking (as Aquarius is a big thinker, a little unconventional, quirky and all about change). This Full Moon in Aquarius energy will be encouraging us to “think outside the box”. Just remember if we find we have been complaining or we are unhappy about any area in our lives, then we are ready for a change. We are being encouraged to use this lunar eclipse to let go of what is no longer serving us, to stay objective and prepare for our best possible success!

This upcoming New Moon in Leo signals the beginning of the ecliptic period for August, as both the next full moon and next new moon in August are under a lunar and solar eclipse.

The sign of Leo, being the king of the jungle, signifies responsibility, leadership and optimism. We can therefore use this New Moon in Leo energy to motivate and inspire.

This New Moon along with the Sun and Mars are all in Leo (conjunct) so we may feel the need to break free from restrictions, encouraging us to enjoy love, life and creativity.
